AJ Burnett is actually having a decent season this year. He was terrible last year but he has an 8-7 record with a 4.12 ERA but more importantly he has pitched late into most games. You make fun of Colon all you want but he has a better ERA than everyone on the Redsox except for Beckett with a 6-4 record. His last outing wasn't good but he was coming off the DL. Before the DL he had gone 4-0 with an ERA of 1.1 in his last four starts. The Yankees have this young pitcher named Nova who has been awesome for a young pitcher. 8-4 record for us. He is legit. Our 5th starter has been Garcia and he has been adequate enough with a 7-6 record with 3.13 ERA but hopefully Hughes can right the ship and be back in the line-up as a legit pitcher. Now Boston is a mess. Yes Beckett is off the hook and Lester was picthing well as well but he is now on the DL so who knows what he will be like when he returns. Bucholz was playing well but is also on the DL. Andrew Miler has pitched 4 games for Boston and he was terrible before signing with Boston. I doubt it will last and he is certainly not better than every other pitcher on the Yankees. His ERA is hovering around 3.57. Garcia has a beter ERA. And don't even mention Wakefield. The guy is washed up especially when he plays AL teams who have been him multiple times. His ERA is hoovering around 4.57. I really don't see how you can say Boston pitching is so superior. It just isn't plain and simple. |
