Noobie here! Sub questions
Hi All! I am new to the forum! I have been a rolex fan my whole life! I received my first rolex at graduation from college 5 years ago. It was my dad's first rolex when he graduated from college. It is a '78 stainless sub. It is a great watch and even though it hasn't been serviced since the mid 80's still keeps perfect time when I wear it!(doesn't seem to work for my dad). For my dad's 25th aniv. with his company (Bechtel) he was given a new rolex (gold presidential I think). Since he wears that daily, he gave me his gold and stainless sub about six months ago(2000 model I think). It is an awesome watch! About two months ago, it stopped working so I took it to the Rolex building in downtown dallas to have it serviced. I got it back looking brand new! Unfortunately, since I am a city official, I have to be carefull wearing it to work, in fact I rarely do. (I can't drive my corvetes to work either for that matter!) Since I wear it only on the weekends, what is the best method of longevity for it? I have a watch winder from Sharper Image that I am toying with. Is it better to use that watch winder or wind it whenever I wear it? Thanks for the help in advance!
