Hello all
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and have been reading all of the great posts. Wow, a lot of knowledge out there and it's been great so far. Some very passionate folks on here. (Is it ok to say maybe a bit obsessed :-) I think it's kinda great) I have just purchased my first Rolex. An Oyster Datejust 16233 in gold and stainless with champagne face and stick markers, rolex jubilee, its a watch I have wanted for 25 years now I realized and I just went and got it finally. It's going to be my daily use watch as life is just to short for any regrets I think. Such an iconic design and the watch I always thought of and pictured when I saw the Rolex symbol. I have a memory of seeing Sir Edmund Hillary (fellow kiwi) in an ad sometime later after publishing with Rienhold Messner, two of the greatest mountaineers ever standing in the snow advertising Rolex, and these were guys who really used them and abused them. As a mountaineer and sport climber I think I wanted to just in a very small way to always join that club. Plus there was always something for me about just wanting to buy the best in my mind. To have something elegant and very well made and just use it. So anyway,I have gone on a bit but hello to all here.
