Rolex on a Nato strap

I'm thinking of trying this out, and I have some questions:

Do the straps tend to really scratch the caseback?

Also, would I need thicker springbars (if there is such a thing) so that the watch head doesn't slide around much (although I suppose this is a function of how tight the band is around the wrist)?
