My new watch!

A week ago I solicited this august body's thoughts on my next acquisition. It was either an A. Lange & Sohne WG Zeitwerk or a Rolex YG 116718 GMTIIc. Statistically, it ended in a tie. Many wondered why I'd compare a Lange vs a Rolex when they're in such different technical and price levels. Plain and simple, I wanted a "fun" watch and these two, regardless of their differences, caught my eye. So what to do about a tie?? Why get both of course!

Here's my 116718 which arrived this morning.

Unfortunately, there isn't a WG Zeitwerk available anywhere! So I've ordered one from an AD but due to limited production, it's going to be next year before I see it. Oh well, I think I can be patient.

I'll post up my thoughts on the 116718 (and a comparison to it's SS 116710 cousin) next week. initial impressions are a) this is heavy!, b) YG is more impressive in the sun than indoor, c) it draws a lot of attention, and d) gold is VERY scratch prone.
