Newbie question please advise
Hi. I was hoping for some advise as I don't really know anything about rolexs.
I'm a young guy in my early twenties and was given a beautiful rolex datejust oyster perpetual black face stick dial 18k white gold fluted bezel model 16234 for my high school graduation from a family friend. The watch was in like new condition, had the original oyster band, and was roughly (can't remember the exact year) 8-10 years old. Unfortunetly, though, last year I started grad school for my Masters in Social Work and needed cash badly for books and expenses so I sold the rolex. I loved the watch but figured social workers shouldn't wear rolexs anyways. I understand now that I probably got ripped off when i sold it (sold it for $2200). Anyhow, since the day i sold the watch i have regretted doing it and have been haunted. I really want that watch back on my wrist! So now although i'm still a broke social worker in a ton of debt, i have a few bucks saved for this purpose and was hoping to start looking for a used watch with similar specs that is affordable. Could someone please advise me as to what a fair price would be to pay for a watch with similar specs (used but in good condition) and where to start looking? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks so much. |
