Day-date president bracelet clasps...

I am looking to buy a Day-date right now and was just offered one with a president bracelet but with a visible, standard looking rolex gold clasp instead of the hidden clasp I have always associated with the president bracelet.

Was this a common and factory offered clasp arrangement? I have only seen one for sale like this and it made me question the provenance of the watch.

If this visible clasp was a factory offering, how much does it effect the price of the watch versus the hidden clasp arrangement?
