I went to Tourneau today.....
I am in Troy, Michigan at the Somerset Collection where they have a Tourneau store. I have been there a number of times and the girl I meet looks at my watch and says "nice Yachtmaster." We chat and I mention I am looking for a Sub-C. See says they no longer sell new Rolex watches and only have pre-owned models.
As we are talking I look across from her store and notice a brand new Omega store has opened up directly in front of hers. It is right next to Tiffany and Neiman Marcus. We chat and she explains the next trend for Rolex is the boutique watch shop. She said they started it in Chicago and it worked well. An authorized Rolex store that would not discount. Bose spearkers has done this type of price control for years and it has worked. Is this the next step for Rolex??????????? I hope not. |
