It is my conjecture that G series and random series watches are concurrent.
I examined several random serial number watches at AD's before I ever examined a watch with a G serial number.
A new, current production, Rolex watch should have a complete of plastic stickers, including one on the left (non-crown) side that has a "micro barcode" printed in black on the clear plastic protective sticker.
I have a Sub C that I wear with a random serial number that I purchased in December 2010 from a Rolex AD in Ohio.
Recently I sold. on TRF, a G series Sub C 116610 that was purchased new from Tourneau in the summer of 2011.
I hope this helps.
Happy 2012.
