EX II 42 owners, help me out here
I have yet to try one on! But while I wait for my AD to get one in, I keep searching for reasons to buy it when it does... For those of you lucky ones that already HAVE the new model, here is a consideration/question.
Fact number 1. I am getting old. Fact number 2. My Ex-Navy Pilot eyes, 20-12 in flight school, are somewhere around 4,300 - a million. I exagerate of course, but I continue to have to wear reading glasses more and more and have progessively gotten the stronger and stronger lenses.... See Fact number 1 Fact number 3. It really is difficult for me to see the face of my Daytona now, unless I'm wearing my glasses I have to take a several second stare, and hold it about 17 feet away to be able to read the time; (You can forget me ever seeing the totalizers... I need a lupe for that). Question number 1. To those of you that have them, how much does the extra 2 millimeter size face, AND the mercedez AND the wider hands AND the basic fact the face is a lot-less cluttered, make it easier to read the time at a glance? This is especially for those old farts like myself, who's eyes just don't have the strength they used to. Is it a noticible difference? Would it help me being able to read the time wihout a major 5-minute procedure now? Comments, are welcome. |
