Great forum!!
I'm new to TRF and this is my first post. I owned a TT Datejust 16233 with a champagne dial, fluted bezel & jubilee bracelt that I bought in 1997. I thought this would be the only Rolex I'd ever own. Well, after looking for a way to get minor scratches off the clasp and seeing the great advice on this forum to use a scotchbrite pad I was hooked on this forum.
I've always liked the Submariner and after reading a lot about it on here I made the mistake of trying one on at an AD. I did a lot of reading on this site and the more I was on here the easier it was for me to justify buying the Sub.(easier than justifying new golf equipment). I was able to find an AD that worked with me a little on the price (not much). I pulled the trigger about a month ago and could not be happier. I love this watch!!! There is nothing about this watch I don't like. As for my TT Datejust; rather than having it sit in a drawer, I found a jewlery buyer who gave me a fair price for it. I did have mixed emotions about selling it but sold it anyway. Who knows, at some point maybe I'll replace it with the updated model with the solid links. I really enjoy this forum and find myself spending way too much time on it. With 2 kids in college I'm in no position to buy another Rolex. The temptation is certainly there. |
