Another reason to buy Rolex
So...I'm thinking about buying another watch. It's addictive.
I've got a 16610 and a Suunto Observer Titanium (don't talk to me about the ultimate "tool"--this thing can calibrate the ballistic computer on an Abrams tank!!). I'm just starting the collection, and I want a chrono, a dress watch, a white dial, and a GMT. I also want a cross section of great brands and designs. So I'm thinking Exp-II and Omega Deville chrono. So I head over to the "ultimate Omega forum" and start asking some questions about Devilles. Crickets. All those buggers want to talk about is their POs and SMPs and Speedys. No breadth of interest and knowledge. At least, if it's out there, nobody is offering. I've never seen a post--even/especially a newb pos--on this forum that hasn't been exhaustively answered. And, if there's no knowledge or specific interest to share, folks are at least getting a dozen or more "welcome to the forum" posts. TRFers RULE!! Maybe I'll get a white daytona (like that'll happen) and a DJ on a black croc strap. I'll still need a GMT though... |
