ANOTHER New Rolex on the Way???!!

Hey guys,

Was browsing around various watch sites tonight (well, this morning now), and I found this...

Rolex Announces the Subterraner (on Watch'In'Out)

What do you think? Legit? Could it be a leak on something Rolex is (or was) planning on following up the Deepsea Challenge with?

Here's the article contents:

Quote:
Just six short days ago, renowned director James Cameron took his Deepsea Challenger to the deepest known point in the Earth’s oceans, the Challenge Deep of Marina’s Trench. Accompanying him on that mission was Rolex’s Deepsea Challenge, adorning the sub’s robotic arm like some surrealistic post-apocalyptic sci-fi fashion statement.

Despite the fact that no human could wear this timepiece in the conditions it was designed to withstand, Rolex again proved a point – that it could build the most dependable dive watches on the planet, capable of withstanding conditions harsher than you or I will ever face. Even James Cameron could only face such treacherous depths safely nestled inside the 2.5″ thick walls of his sub.

Well, in case you thought Rolex was done proving itself, you were wrong. For the true Rolex afficionado, another amazing feat attempt has been revealed. Today, we found nestled away in Rolex.com a possible future ad announcing the development of its new concept watch, the Subterraner. Utilizing futuristic materials science, Rolex has conceived a watch that can withstand temperatures in excess of 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. Theoretically, this watch could be lowered into a volcano and still keep accurate time!

Check out the ad we found on Rolex.com (below). It looks like this piece may actually be produced! Talk about functional bling. This piece takes watchmaking to a level we never thought we’d see!

What will Rolex think of next?
