Keep or Sell
BACK STORY: I bought a Blue Tag Aquaracer back in late November. I got a decent deal on it considering retail is $2,100. In early January I noticed a flaw on the dial. Knowing that I was getting my Sub-C soon, I decided to wait to take it in until I got my Rolex so that I wouldn't be without a watch.
Got the Sub in late February and that same weekend I took the Tag back to where I bought it to have them send it in to Tag. Couple weeks go by with no word so I called Tag directly to check on it. They said it would be about 4 weeks because the movement was on backorder! Hmmm... sent it in for a dial replacement and you're replacing the movement?? I then called my retailer who sent it in and he stayed on top of it, checking the status weekly. Well, after not hearing anything for awhile from my retailer I called him for a status update. He said that Tag has been giving HIM the run around; they told him to call back in 3 weeks for another update. Before I could even express my growing anger, he said that he had already contacted his corporate HQ and their company would allow me to get a new watch to replace my original one that Tag has. So basically I will be getting a brand new Tag Aquaracer Friday. Question is, do I have it sized and keep it for my collection, or should I not size it - keep it new - and sell it?
