First post here from the land of plenty (as long as you have a little money). Moved to Shanghai from New Orleans about 6 months ago. Just purchased a new Plat YM in Hong Kong. It's a tad heavier than my Timex Ironman, but I'll get use to it.

Enjoying the site and all the relevant information. A couple of questions:
- When not wearing my Rolex it was reccomended to lay it 'face down' (on a protected surface)? If true, what is the benefit?
- What is the concensus on insuring the Rolex? Need a seperate in-land marine policy?
- Is 5 years the average time before service / cleaning is reccomended?
- If purchased with AMEX card, does the warranty double and is damage, loss, theft protection cover the Rolex?
