Dropped the GMT-II on the floor
It had to happen at some point, even though I am careful.
I had just given given it it's bath and had put it on a towel on the counter to dry, when it fell from the counter and onto the floor, a ceramic tile floor, face first. My first thought, okay my first thought was exactly the same thing I said before my worst car accident, six years ago. OOOOHHH SSSHHH***TTT!! My second thought as I stood there is, the crystal is totally shattered, I am so screwed. So I picked it up, and nothing, crystal is fine, bezel is fine, and it's ticking. I then set it to the official time, and as of last night, it's -2 seconds. It used to be -1. Cannot believe it! What I've learned: no more baths in the kitchen, a few more grey hairs, and what a fantastic watch! |
