Black is Beautiful - GMT Master II DLC
Ok, I did it. After spending some time here on the forum, i know many of you are against any modifications, which is fine with me. I do have some nice watches, and some I would not touch, like my all time favourite the 5513 meter first from 1968.
However, and i tried this with the help of the forum, to decide which of my watches should be blacked-out. Either mu SD or my GMT II - after back and forward I decided that the SD is closer to my heart (for many reasons) and I contacted a couple of companies. Pro Hunter did not even answer me, Project X Design, whose watches I like a lot, did first answer, offered a quite high prize for the service and then stopped the communication with me. Shame because I was really interested and even considering the prize. Then I contacted TitanBlack - and I was VERY impressed with their response time, the detailed information and feedback to my questions and worries. I felt they love watches and they took my worries serious. Vassili, the director of TitanBlack, was great to deal with, kept me updated all along the entire process - from sending the watch until it was back with me in Madrid. Most of the time I had an email from him in less then 24 hrs. I work in the service industry and I was truly impressed. Yesterday the watch arrived and I have to say, it looks better than I expected - I wanted a black-matte look and not the glossy black look which makes the watches look like plastic. I wanted to wear it on a NATO but it looks great on the steel strap as well - much better then i thought it would. I only for the watch yesterday (out of the box) and today - and I got asked so many questions about it that it was almost funny. Even my wife loves it and she was against it in the beginning. Do I have to say more LOL. I changed the strap now to a green NATO, but grey and black also look amazing. Process was done to my SS GMT Master II (2004) by TitanBlack in London - from sending to return of the watch it was 3 weeks. Here are some pictures (sorry blackberry quality / the black is absolutely even, no marks etc. it is just a bit the quality of the pictures) - let me know what you think. [IMG] [/IMG]
