Exp II in its environnement
Dear all,
Its been a long time I havent posted here. I just got back from vacations in France, my home country. I grew up in the French Alps, actually 30km from the Rolex factory in Geneva Among other things I've been hiking the mountains around my village. We did climb from 1000m to 1860m in about 2.5 hours with my father and wife. This was still quite low altitude with some trees still : No more trees here, and quite a steep slope ! After a few more meters, my wife encountered some weird local animals... Now to the top for a quick break with nice sandwiches, and we could admire his majesty Mont-Blanc, highest summit in eastern Europe ( 4807m ). The Exp II behaved of course perfectly ! Then it was time to get down, with a better pic of the Mont-Blanc : How weird... I learned later that this is the animal we use to get milk, for yoghurts, cream and so on... So after being back home, me and my wife decided to go higher, see this mighty whity mountains seen from far... Here we go, direction Chamonix, the world alpinism capital, also host of the first ever winter olympic games, in 1924. It took about 45min drive from my house. We took one of the highest cable car in the world, starting from 1000m, and ending up at 3870m altitude, in about 20min time. From there, alpinists departs for hi-mountain expeditions, so you can see there some real pro Alpinists there, from all around the world. temperature up there was zero degres celsius, in early september... Now no more talks, just let you see the beauty of the place : The white summit here in the middle is actually the Mont-Blanc, still 1000m above us... Here is my hand, never been so high on earth yet !!! Well we had to go down and back into the real life. After we made it back home, I took a real refreshment... The Exp II got a little rest, and is ready for some new adventures... |
