Im looking to educate myself a bit more on APs. What are the general opinions over AP movements?

Although they look beautifully decorated I was a little disappointed at the danger zone date setting aspect of a 41mm roo I recently looked at. Correct me if I'm wrong but they beat at a lower hertz than rolex and the power reserves don't seem too impressive either.

I also find It a bit odd that the rubber clad Roos have a different movement than the steel bezel roos.

I'd appreciate any info on all this or please point me to the right place/links.
