Can I get some help with this? Vintage re-cased watch
I bought this watch on the bay a few years ago. I know, thats my first issue... And I know know to always buy the seller, not the watch. But I really thought the watch was cool. Well, its been a while and I have not worn it for quite some time. I was thinking about selling or giving it away, but now after being into watches more and more, I feel that its a very large possibility that most if not all of this is not correct.
I know that its ben re-cased. But is the dial, hands, and especially the movement Rolex? When I bought it, I noticed right away, it did not say Rolex on the movement, and right away contacted the seller about it, but was told that not all Rolex movements were marked with "rolex". Well at the time, I was OK with that explanation, because I really liked the watch. (not the best choice I know) But now, thinking I might sell or give it away, I dont want to pass on a complete frankin-watch to sell or as a gift. A good friend/watch seller that posts often here and lives in Florida suggested I ask this forum about my watch. I know I dont post here much, but Im active on a few of the other watch sites and recently bought an AP here so this is a legitimate question, not a water tester. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |
