London Jewelers visit
Found myself in Manhasset at the Americana and decided to check out the merchandise.
One of the very few days off... from the Porsche dealership to the the WIS's toy store... Checked out Vacheron, Patek, IWC, Rolex -- my wrists are larger so I was looking a +40mm models. My findings: Vacheron - Overseas: right size (42mm) - very comfortable fit - classy, sporty, elegant. Patek - Nautilus: very elegant but seemed too small for my taste. IWC - Ingenuer: nice size and feel but it seemed to simple for my taste. IWC - Portuguese Perpetual Calendar - they had the WG blue face version - excellent size and feel, very impressive. Along with the $42k price tag. Rolex - our beloved Rolex - tried on the YG Daytona Paul Newman dial - very nice... Felt small compared to the Vacheron overseas but so elegant! Rolex - YG GMT - perfect feel, comfort, elegance - what a wonderful sporty watch! Advantage, Rolex! Then... made it over to 'THE' counter! They wanted to show me the blue glacier and their MOP masterpiece pearl master. The pearl master retailed for $97k! And the blue glacier, $62k. I left there with a few more items added to the bucket list. IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar Rolex GMT YG Vacheron Constantin - Overseas black face |
