My new P series SEA-DWELLER...
Awhile ago, I set out on a quest to find the "right" Sea Dweller, since I've been crazy about this watch for some time now, and now that they're discontinued, not only are they getting more and more expensive, but also scarcer on the 2nd hand market around here as people seem to be holding onto them. Somewhere along the way, though, my efforts were derailed by the release of the new, upgraded Submariner...
Recently, I got back out on the hunt. After hunting down and checking out more examples than I care to admit to, I finally ran into this one... It's a P series, placing it's production date somewhere around 2000, and with an original date of sale, as per it's chronometer certificate, in 2001. It's old enough to have lug holes, but new enough to have a Superluminova dial that still glows, albeit not fantastically, but I live in Hong Kong anyways, and it's never truly dark here. Got home, and gave the watch a quick check up on the timegrapher. As the watch has recently been serviced, it came as no surprise that dial up, it's rate is steady, and +/- 0 seconds, with 298 degrees amplitude...nice n' healthy. Time to ease back and enjoy, with a nice Gin 'n juice. Cheers, boys!
