I have larger wrists and build too... I Agree on AP, also can check out IWC (Big Pilot, Big Ingen, Vintage Pilot). Those are a few nice larger cased models under $10k. Blancpain FF is an awesome looking 45mm watch, though it will look like your DSSD.
