Submariner 116610N, Bargain?!
Dear all,
I am about to buy my husband his first Rolex for his birthday. I started looking a few weeks ago with a budget of around £2000($3200). Found a DateJust Turn-O-Graph, in great condition, serial U(so 1997-98), black dial on a jubilee bracelet, from a dealer with original box and 12 months warranty for about £2000. But then I came across a Submariner 116610LN for just £2500($4000), it is sold by an individual, not a dealer, hence no warranty. However from the pictures, the watch appears to be in excellent condition, and since that particular model was launched in 2010, it can't be more than two years old. The submariner is being sold, with original box and manual, but the seller claims he cannot find the papers, hence the low price. I don't know how much they go for in the US, but in the UK, you can't find a Submariner 116610LN for less than £3800($6000), which made me think this was a bit of a bargain. And also the seller welcomes buyers to check the watch's authenticity, before buying. The only thing bothering me now, is why is he selling it online, as he should be able to get more or similar to his asking price from a rolex dealer. So I guess my question is it really a good deal? Many Thanks Maria |
