New Rolex Green Sub
Hey all....new to the forums, but have been lurking here for a bit, reading all the good stuff from you guys. I'm at a point where I'd like to join the Rolex club, and I'd really like to get a stainless steel Sub. I just think it's a timeless, iconic, design and a great all-around watch.
So....I know that the black one is more popular, and probably a bit more practical, but for some reason, I really like the green one. Maybe because it's just that *little* bit different, while still being a beautiful watch. I saw one tonight, tried it on, and was amazed (as many of you have commented) about how the dial changes color, based on the viewing angle. At extreme angles, it actually looks black. Really good stuff. I know these things are bulletproof and I've beaten up on my Tag pretty well, and while it keeps going, a few little pieces have begun to break off it....(the buttons for the stopwatch and reset literally just fell off). What can you say? It's just a Tag.... :-) My main concern is pairing with formal wear. I typically wear a suit for work (often dark or charcoal colored), and I'm just not sure if the green one would work for everyday wearing (i.e. if it would "match" or look out of place). Anyone have any experience with it, good or bad? Would appreciate any feedback or comments, based on what you've seen. thanks all! Matt |
