I will admit, I am not a watch enthusiast. I am a 22 year female that just graduated from college. My great grandmother, Cora Duruttya, died in 2011, and my mother collected the watch from her.
I've been unemployed since mid-September because my previous job was a work study job at the college. My mother, knowing that Rolex watches are very expensive, thought that it could prove helpful in giving me the watch and checking it out for its authenticity. You know, to help pay rent.
I didn't think I'd have to explain myself to you. I would never be able to afford a real Rolex watch on my own, so I have no intentions on buying one. However, if it was real, it could have helped me and my mother with our bills.
I also thought that this forum would have been much safer than visiting a jeweler, or watchmaker, that could easily take advantage of a naive young person like myself. So thank you guys, I appreciate knowing the truth. But perhaps, please be a bit nicer?
And I did stay online, refreshing this page, for a good amount of time before I decided to do something else. I'm sorry I didn't stare it down longer than 45 minutes.
And if it is too much trouble, I would like to know what details make it a fake. I'm not skilled at detecting them, but I'll probably still wear it to feel important in the world. If it is too much trouble, then fine. You can always Google me. My name is Tessa Liddington, my mother is Lucinda Liddington. I've got nothing to hide. In fact, this username, Zikku, was a high school alias I liked to use. Perhaps you'll find it elsewhere on the internet connected to me. I must have really thought out this con, guys. Really.
Anyway, I appreciate the blunt responses in any event. Happy Holidays.

Welcome aboard Tessa. I am convinced you are legit and your inquiry was legit. There are many reasons why skepticism is very high on this forum, as some have stated. I am sorry to hear that your inheritance was judged fake and do hope your great grandma did not get cheated by paying a lot of money for the watch. She might have not known it was a fake but was thoughtful enough to hand it down to family.
Best to you in your endeavors. Happy holidays!
