The Hobbit: A Disappointed Journey

First of all I did not watch this movie as a Lord of the ring fan (I have never watched any of the LOTR movies). I decided to watch this simply to experience the 3D and the highly raved high frame rate (HFR) in which it was filmed (twice the frame rate of a typical film).

I have to say it is an absolute disappointment both with the movie itself and the 3D + HFR effects.

I was instantly disappointed at the very first frame of the movie realising that the film has hit itself in the foot with the HFR, it was so clear in definition that it looked like a TV show rather than a movie film

I was falling asleep during the first 1/4 of the film before any action scene came out, I barely woke up when the actions started anyway...it was that bad. The character's development and acting seems very fake & artificial which is not easy to achieve seeing its already a fake aka fantasy flim.

Overall its a film that tries-too-hard and if I can turn back the time I would not spend a single dime watching it in the cinema

BTW the ending is preparing itself for the next instalment.

If you do decide to go to the movie simply to enjoy a 3D experience with interesting storyline in a fascinating film I recommend watching Disney's animation Wreck-it-Ralph. I am still overwhelmed by this animation, it is the best animation flim I have watched
