From what I can see in the UK most of the guys I know who wear them are like me... Tweed clad and wearing it for family tradition!
I guess the two main categories of person who wear signet rings are those who are given them by family and those who purchase them for themselves. Signet rings, in my book, should never be purchased. I know a few people who have purchased them and they are, without exception, people who have notions about themselves. As for those who are given them, they are fine in my book as they invariably represent a family tradition being passed on, which is a wonderful thing. I have never been given one so I won't be buying one!
