Venting/Anyone else experience this?
i purchased a GMT IIc in April of 2012. Overall I have been somewhat disappointed in the service experience from my AD but that is another thread for another time. I only mention it because I am sure it is influencing my opinions about my current problem.
About a month or so ago my watch starting running 2 minutes a day fast. I took it to the AD and he told me that there was nothing wrong with it, including not being magnetized. I brought it home and the same thing kept happening. I brought it back again and asked if they would please just keep it for a few days and see if they could replicate my issue. Turns out I get a call from the AD telling me that while the watch keeps perfect time most of the time there are periods of time where it starts running up to 1,000 seconds a day fast. It does this for a while according to him and then stops. My question is whether or not anyone else has experienced or even heard of this before? Any help would be appreciated? My venting issue is that I am really upset and disappointed about my whole ownership experience. The AD has been rude to my wife when she went to buy the watch, not real pleasant with me regarding resizing issues and kind of indignant when I told them something was wrong. On top of it the GD watch doesn't even work after only 8 months. I am very concerned that while they may send it to Rolex for repair if I am having problems now the warranty will be gone before you know it and I will be stuck with a lemon. Anyway, if anyone has any advice I am all ears. Thanks. |
