Bought a new Sub-C

Good day all, I've been browsing these forums for a while, and decided to make an account today. I got a Sub-C for myself as a graduation gift. The idea of getting myself this gift helped me through my 4 years of Engineering, and I've never been this happy!

Now onto my question:

I'm looking to get a NATO band for my watch, and I've read about all the tools you can get, and which ones are recommended... but being an Engineer, I tend to be somewhat resourceful. I know I can use a mechanical pencil to move the spring bars out of place, but I'm not sure how they can be installed after removing the bracelet. Can anyone shed some light on this?
