submariner confusion

i went to my ad dealer today.i bought a gmt pepsi.i love it.they had it in a safe.he sold it to me because he is a friend of mine.claims they will appreciate quickly.any way i left his store and went to the mall.there is another ad dealer there.we got into talking about limited watches.he showed me a submariner 14060 no date no chrono writting,i beleive it was a z series.is the m series the one that has the chrono rating?he claimed that the no date sub is keeping the same look.i know that i this forum 2 people have told me that the no date no chrono will be sought after in a few years.if this is true i will buy it.he has it on hold for me with a small deposit.is this watch already redesigned,and should i add it to me collection.please help,thanks.also what should i pay for this watch.
