What, exactly, is my problem?
I decided that I needed a new "knock around" watch, and stopped off at lunch to look at a Citizen. It's nice enough, 5 year warranty, Eco-drive means that it runs off of light, no battery required, and it was on sale! $250 now only $225. What a bargain. I'm not in love with it, but it was nice enough. I'll see how well I can do on eBay though before I commit.
So, as I'm at the mall anyway, I wander over to a slightly more upscale jeweler, and look at the new Yachtsman. Oh yeah baby, now we're talking! That is sweet. I initially went for the midsize, but the large (40mm) really feels a lot better to me. It must be all those years of wearing Brietlings that has skewed my perspective. $12,350. Ouch. Here I am wondering if I should spend $200 or not on that Citizen, but I'm also debating between the $10K mid-size and the $12K full size. They all do the same thing - tell time. Why am I even looking? Who the heck needs two Rolex watches? And why do I keep thinking that I deserve it? I even briefly considered selling my sub to partially finance the YM. Oye!
