I heartily recommend Isla Mujeres, Mexico as a destination.
My spouse has been to Isla Mujeres, Mexico several times, but I had not until this month. The island is a bit of a throwback to an older, less developed Mexico. There is only one high-end resort on the island, and it is far away from restaurants and neighborhoods, so we avoided it. We stayed on a tiny island at the north tip of Isla Mujeres and enjoyed it immensely. We never had less-than-spectacular food, and the weather was perfect.
The ferry running out to Isla Mujeres from Cancun: A cemetery on the east side: The east side coastline: Sculptures on the south tip: A colorful parrot not happy about me waking him up: |
