Rolex in Print
Hello all! I was noticing our favorite brand of watch has ended up in a couple of magazines lately.
First up is the Feb. 2008 edition of Road & Track, with a rather nice WG Daytona ad on the back of an advertisement for the upcomming Rolex 24 at Daytona race. But on page 78 is an article by Mr. Richard Losee, who wrecked his 2003 Ferrari Enzo. Not just any wreck, this one occured at a speed of 206MPH conservatively- as reconstructed by the Utah Highway Patrol. He said 9g's of force seperated him from his Cosmograph as the car disintegerated, which landed it "some distance" from his car's position. He was seriously injured, but will recover. Mr. Losee went on to thank Rolex USA for searching to find replacement parts for his beloved watch- but the case can no longer be guaranteed pressure-proof. The second is a photo on the cover of the new issue of "SWAT" magazine. A L.E. firearms instructor is trying out a new pistol there, wearing (yes!) a Sea Dweller. It is obvious, even at first glance, and even the helium escape vave is clear. Good pic! The SWAT photo doesn't go deeper into the magazine, no mention of the watch that I saw. But, the article in Road & Track is definitely worth reading, WIS or not. Daytona at the end of the month, anyone? Just thought I'd share!
