Light on a very dark day

Very early this morning, we lost one of our favorite dogs to acute kidney disease. To us, this is the loss of a family member. While trying to deal with the grief, work, and various logistics, the doorbell rang. It was a package from Ponycar containing what is depicted in the first photo on the wrist of husband holding the son of the girl we lost. I had ordered it as a gift after he saw one on eBay and remarked on how wonderful it looked, and how he'd love to have one, except he didn't like the stick dial. A few days later, Ponycar posted one for sale with a gorgeous dial. As you can see, it fits him very well.

The doorbell rang again a few hours later, and the second photo is what arrived for me. It is my first Tudor. I think it looks pretty spiffy. A little bit of light on an otherwise awful day.
