Dial Swap on Datejust...
I have been looking around for a WG/SS DJ with a Roman dial, at a fair price. Yes there are alot of them out there for $3500+, but I would like to find one for under $2000.
So I got to thinking... can I pick up a pre-owned DJ and swap the dial for one that I like. It just seems that all the pre-owned DJ in the $1500-$2000 range have ugly dials. Has anyone done this before. I am not concerned about resale value, nor RSC rejecting the Frankinstein watch. I'm sure I can get a Rolex certified tech to do the swap while they are doing a service. I hope I am not upseting anyone for altering a Rolex, but I would be doing the world a favor buy updating a old, out dated, ugly watch!
