16233 Datejust -- removing links from Jubilee?

I just received this beautiful two-tone Datejust from Patrick Aziz (ocrolexguy). It's a T serial from 1996 and couldn't be in better shape. Thank you Patrick!

My question relates to removing links from a Jubilee bracelet. I had two removed from the 6 o'clock side by a watchmaker who felt this would be best since it's not only the buckle that should be centered under the wrist but also the curved piece of metal under the buckle that points toward the 12 o'clock side and that touches the skin.

My question is whether it would have been better to remove one from each side. I realize this is not earth-shattering but was curious to know where you have taken the links from. Time on my hands, I know, but a great excuse to post pictures ;-)
