I quit my job today...

Greetings TRF,

I feel like sharing this with you tonight, after working for a company for 4 years and 2 months I quit my student job today. I can't say I feel bad for it since the reason why I'm leaving is because I've been offered another job elsewhere, my manager knew I wasn't planning on staying in my store forever and she knew that time was coming so it's not like I was leaving in bad terms with her, I even took the initiative of telling her about my new job a month prior to my last day instead of the usual two weeks since she was always so kind with my and I really enjoyed working with/for her.

I feel like I'm turning quite a page in my life, I've had quite a lot of co-workers in my store and even helped other stores every now and then by working a few days at other places so I've got to know a lot of people. When you've been working with the same people every single weekend and during all your holidays/vacation for that amount of years you sure develop some friendships, some of you may have worked with your co-workers for much longer but as a clerk job in a small store I feel like the ambiance is different, you don't expect people to be with you that long even if they work full time. The only bad thing about leaving is not working with them again or seeing my regular customers, people with whom I've developped a long term professional relationship over the years. Long story short, I worked with animal owners and had to be some kind of a counselor for accessories, food or treats, it may sound stupid but some of those customers came very often and I've seen quite a few dogs growing over the years, some were even brought in when they were adopted at around three months and came by almost every week until they reached adulthood.

All in all, I can't say I'm sad to leave even though there is this bad side. I just have a strange feeling right now as it's the job I've had for the longest time and I'm leaving it for something much more serious. I just thought I'd share it since some of you know what I'm studying and I wanted to give you a little update regarding my professional situation.

Thank you for reading, feel free to comment.
