Rolex and Billiards

A week or two back I saw a post about this guy worried about wearing his Rolex while playing the drums, but never read it. Got me thinking because I've been playing a lot of pool lately and I usually just play it safe and take the Rolly off before. Is there risk of damaging the internal mechanism in any way from activities such as billiards or drumming, etc? Or any effects such as causing the watch to run slow/fast?
