Rolex 8171 Padellone Repair
I’m here to add my voice to the choir of praise for Mr. Bob Ridley.
For some background: My father gave me my grandfather’s watch as a Christmas present several years back. It consistently lost several minutes per hour and was missing its second hand so it spent a lot of time locked away. Recently I decided to do some research on the watch and found that I was the proud owner of a Rolex 8171 Padellone in stainless steel. My search for someone who could repair/appraise the watch brought me originally to the local authorized Rolex dealer. They sent it to their watch technician and he told them that it was too old for him to be locally serviced but I could send it to New York and it would likely go from there to Geneva. Rather than send it off, I took my watch home and looked online. There I found RF and the many glowing reviews for Bob. I sent him an email and I received a response from Barbara who arranged a time for Bob and I to speak. When you talk to Bob, you immediately discover his passion for watches. Coupled with his peerless reputation from the forums, I knew right away he was the right person for my situation. Bob told me that not only would he be able to make the watch run accurately again, but he felt confident that he could either find a replacement second hand or have a new one crafted. I just received updated photos of the face from him with a new second hand and I am extremely pleased with its appearance. I hope you all enjoy the photos.
