Abbreviations

Forgive me as you've probably been asked this many times before, but as a new member I was wondering if someone could fill me in on the many Rolex abbreviations used on the site. For example, today's thread re "LV's" (?). I get most of the model designators and "AD," but some of the others I don't.

Second question: yesterday the question was raised re the value of an older Explorer and someone (maybe Bo, I forget) suggested that if it was a 1610 it might be valued at upwards of $5k. I have one just like the poster showed in his pic's, but the caseback has no marking/number on it and the bracelet's been replaced. How might I make the determination. I believe it's a 1968.

By the way, you all have a very nice "tone" on this forum.

Thanks for your help.
