Will smart watches put an end to mechanical watches?

With the recent trend for developing wearable tech (fitness bands, smart watches, etc.) from major tech brands, it got me wondering how are mechanical watches are going to survive this one... I know there will always be a place for high end mechanical watches, that's how it survived the quartz era. Though I am curious to see how mechanical watches will fight for wrist time against smart watches that are capable of doing a million other things. What are your thoughts?
