Accurist AND time.gov 18 sec fast this AM...
I thought my Sub had gone haywire overnight... I guess Accurist and time.gov need to synchronize themselves with my 35 year old mechanical chronometer... ;)
Seriously, the Accurist clock and the time.gov clocks were both 18 seconds fast this morning. As I have written this, the time.gov clock has corrected, and is with WWV now... but Accurist is still running 18 seconds fast. I think if you're serious about checking or regulating the performance of your watch, you probably ought to go with a broadcast signal, rather than anything off the internet. I have ordered a Casio Atomic Waveceptor for the purposes of monitoring various mechanical watches I tinker with from time to time. I have an atomic clock with radio receiver as well (and this is what first tipped me off to the +18 second error of time.gov and Accurist)... but the little Waveceptor Casio will be more handy, and can double as a harsh duty watch when I don't want to risk messing up my Sub. http://accurist123.com/ http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5/java There are the two online time links... as mentioned, time.gov corrected a few minutes ago (about 9:10 EST)... but as of this writing, Accurist is anything but "accurate"...
