Advice Needed: Help me choose between GMT II and Datejust II

I have my eyes on the GMT II BLNR and Datejust II two-tone slate dial with green markers. My last watch was a Timex, so this is a bit of an upgrade.

I like the GMT because its sporty, I can wear it at work, on the weekends, and can pass it off as a sporty watch and not as a rolex.

However the Datejust II has caught my eye because it is the classic rolex look and the fluted bezel makes it look elegant. I also like the green markers because that makes it unique.

If anyone has chosen between the two models, I know they are very different watches, please let me know what helped you make your decision. Also let me know what else I should be considering.
