Cyclops or Non?

I'm considering doing a few modifications to my everyday "beater" Sub 16610. I bought it head only without bracelet for something that could be worn is any situation. I wear it on NATO's and rubber and love that sporty look. After having the watch for a few months I now want to have a little fun with it. I purchased a Yachtmaster red second hand and am now considering putting a roulette or red date wheel to match. If the date wheel is switched I don't want the red number to stick out so I would like to remove the cyclops to give it a SD look. I'll be keeping all the original parts if the mods wear on me and I want to return it to the original look. But will I regret removing the cyclops? I do like the cyclops and think its on of those Rolex only features that makes a watch pop.
