ARRIVED..... A suprising true iconic classic.
She arrived in pristine condition yesterday from our very own jizeal and is stunning. I have been trying to find what is to be my forever watch (I'm not a collector and prefer just one piece to accompany me day and night, year after year. My first two Rolexes served me for 6 years each). Well 3 Rolexes later I think I have found her. She is a true Rolex classic, some might argue the last of the classics that remained true to their Rolex heritage the longest. The 114270 Explorer I.
I love the simplicity, the elegance, yet toughness all rolled into one. She is truly a do it all piece, from jeans and t-shirt to tux. She is the woman's version of the little black dress. She has conquered Everest, was on Ian Fleming's wrist as he put a Rolex onto James Bond's arm, worn by celebrities, and had no drastic changes since 1953. Yet she doesn't scream look I'm a Rolex, she doesnt have to she lets her beauty speak for her. For you car lovers she reminds me of a Ferrari Dino with stunning lines and grace and equally at home on country backroads as well as in front of a Four Seasons. She's not very common or popular yet is truly loved and often quoted as a favorite by those who own her. I'm glad to say I'm now a member of the 3,6,9 club....... |
