Sapphire Crystal Detector?
Guys,
I was in a watch store in Turkey browsing his wears (very gingerly because of all the fakes) and he brought out an electronic device to prove the displays on his watches were sapphire crystal. I've never seen one before, it was a small handheld device with a metal tip you pressed against the glass with an LED scale showing what I think was the hardness of what it was pressed against. My Rolex and wife's Tag Heuer were off the scale, as was my wife's engagement ring! :-) He showed me some that weren't sapphire which showed clearly on his tool. Does anyone know what this tool is called and where I can get one?? Thanks, Chris PS I was BLOWN AWAY by some of the Swiss made "replicas" they were selling. It was actually frightening how good the copies were and would have struggled to tell the difference - BE CAREFUL OUT THERE PEOPLE!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
