I have attached a picture of some of my current collection for discussion purposes. Preface..........Many of these watches were purchased brand new (warranty in my name) and have remained in the box in a safe their entire life)

Here are some of my thoughts and I lack guidance right now.

1. I love Daytonas, I want to keep both but why am I doing that? I will be acquiring a Platona very soon so I am not sure I need the 18k diamond dial one. The chocolate stays What would you guys do....just hang on to the yellow gold one or kiss her goodbye?

2. I have two GMT C in 18k gold, both with the same black dial......I have only worn one of them and sparingly.....I guess one should go?

4. BNIB V serial Milgauss GV, never put on my wrist....why am I keeping this around? Would anyone else hang on to a watch like that if you will never wear it?

5. Panerai 312 L series bought brand new and still sits brand new. I will never wear it.....what would you do?

6. The datejusts stay I guess, ones an old model that has meaning behind it, and I just like the other one but it too is BNIB with stickers on

6. The LV, SD 4000 and Explorer 2 stay but heres the big question.....

What would you get rid of, why and what would you replace it with.....

I am open to any model except for:

date just 2

36mm president

How would you guys move things around and what would you get and why?

p.s. My explorer 2 is my favourite out of every one of these

Wow, lots of sound suggestions here, but a lot of different ones, too. Not sure we're helping? :)
FWIW, this would be my plan, corresponding to your itemized thoughts above:
1) Keep, keep, and congrats on the incoming. They all differ in dial and metal. I love Daytonas too, and even received guidance from our forum brothers and sisters regarding owning multiple examples of Daytonas. The bulk of the responses was "yes," and I echo that sentiment here. Keep 'em all!
2) Yes, keep the unused one and sell the used one. The difference in price realized probably won't be much, so nicer to have the newer one.
4) I wouldn't keep it. With the new blue dial choice out there, I don't see the value of the black dial GV going up, so sell now.
5) Sell the Panerai.
6) Keep both.
6) Stay they will.
I don't think you need replacements for the ones you sell off. Besides, you have a history of adding, so any "replacements" will find their way. Also note: my suggestions really mirror what you seem to feel already (if I'm interpreting your notes as you meant). I'm not re-stating your sentiments so much as agreeing with your sound reasoning. Sell off a few before you decide what to bring in. That way, what is "missing" will be easier to determine. Good luck!!
