Hello from Cambridgeshire, UK
Hello all. I joined this site a couple of days ago so I thought it was time I put virtual pen to virtual paper and introduced myself.
I have a GMT2 black/red with an Oyster bracelet. It dates from 1992 and I bought it from Darren Reay in September 2004. It is my first Rolex, and I traded in an Omega Seamaster towards it. Before that I had a Tudor which was a 30th birthday present from my parents (so I suppose it's sort of my second Rolex!). Last November I dropped it on the floor in the house and it stopped. I only got it back from Rolex last Thursday. The bill was for £830 (c. US$1,650), but fortunately my house insurance covered it. It came back with a new case (annoyingly, they removed the green sticker) and crystal, and it looks like new. I don't have a watch collection, I wear this one every day. I had a standard clasp put on it in place of the expanding one because it rattled when I was driving and drove me mad. But it makes me feel good, and isn't that what it's all about? Dom |
