I don't own any ceramic Sub, but for what i see the diver's extension has to be completely inside or completely outside of the clasp to sit comfortably.
Any in-between position makes for an even longer rigid clasp.

What can I say… The old tin-foil clasp design wasn't that bad after all. The extension was completely inconspicuous, and if you ever needed it was there.

Just MHO.
